Inspired by mud, my tack room and a touch of gold!

Horse ownership is not glossy.

It is rain dripping down the back of your jacket. It is mud on your boots that never quite washes off. It is cold fingers fumbling with buckles in the half-light of early mornings. It is hay in your hair, feed bins to lift, rugs to change and a yard that never really feels finished.

And yet, for me, that is exactly where the inspiration for the new collection began.

Because tucked behind the weathered doors and damp coats is something quietly beautiful. My tack room.

Finding Beauty in the Everyday

If you ride, you will know the feeling. You step into the tack room after a long day and everything is familiar. Saddles resting on their stands. Bridles hanging in neat lines. Polished bits catching the light. The rich scent of leather and oil.

There is order there. Care. Craftsmanship.

The new collection was born from that moment of stillness. From the contrast between the outside world of mud and the quiet luxury within.

I found myself drawn to the details I normally take for granted. The curve of a snaffle ring. The strength of a buckle. The weight of well-made metal in your hand. These are not flashy things, but they are purposeful. They are strong. They are designed to last.

That is what I wanted to reflect.

Adding the Luxury of Gold

So this time, I chose gold.

Not for show. Not for extravagance. But for warmth.

Gold feels different. Against winter skin it has a softness. It catches stable light in a way that silver does not. It elevates even the simplest equestrian design and gives it a quiet confidence.

Much like the women who wear it.

Because the reality is this. Many of us go from yard to school run to office to evening without changing much more than our boots. We live in practical layers. Waterproof coats. Thick socks. Hair tied back. Life is full and often messy.

Adding a piece of gold jewellery inspired by the tack room felt like a small act of reclaiming something for ourselves. A reminder that even on the muddiest of days, there is room for a little luxury.

That contrast is what excites me most about this collection. Strength and softness. Function and beauty. Rain and gold.

Inspired by Real Horse Life

This collection is not inspired by polished show yards or curated photoshoots.

It is inspired by real horse life.

It is inspired by the bridle hook that has been in place for years. The saddle that has moulded to its horse. The bit that has seen countless miles across fields and arenas. It is inspired by the women who show up in all weather and still find joy in it.

I wanted the pieces to feel wearable every day, not saved for best. Jewellery you can layer with a jumper at the yard or wear to dinner without feeling overdone.

Pieces that feel like part of you.

A Busy Christmas and Valentine’s Update

If you have followed Pegasus Jewellery over the past few months, you will know it has been a whirlwind.

Christmas was busier than I could have imagined. Orders came in right up to the last posting day. Messages filled my inbox with stories of daughters, mothers, wives and friends who live and breathe horses. Every parcel felt personal. Every note mattered.

There is something very special about knowing a small business piece will be opened on Christmas morning and worn with pride.

Then, before we had quite caught our breath, Valentine’s Day arrived.

Again, the support was incredible. Gold pieces in particular flew out. Many of you chose them as gifts. Many chose them for yourselves. I loved seeing the photos, the tags, the quiet celebrations of horse women being recognised for who they are and what they do.

It reminded me why I started Pegasus in the first place.

Not just to sell jewellery.

But to celebrate this life we share.

The Next Chapter for Pegasus

Pegasus is still growing. Still evolving. Still learning.

Behind the scenes, I have been refining packaging, reviewing designs and thinking carefully about how each collection tells a story. I want every launch to feel intentional. I want the inspiration to be real, not manufactured.

This new collection feels like a step forward. It feels grounded in authenticity. It feels like me.

It feels like the tack room on a wet afternoon. Quiet. Strong. Understated. And then, a flash of gold.

If you are standing in the rain this week, rug in hand, wondering how on earth you ended up with straw in your hair again, I hope you remember this.

There is beauty here.

Sometimes you just have to look past the mud to find it.
